Hey everyone! This week is a very busy one for me! There's not much time to craft. I am trying something new with thank you, happy birthday, and happy holiday cards by embossing. If you go to Paper Source, (now my favorite place) there are many different kinds of stationary cards one can chose from. Pick a card first. Next, if you look for the embossing powder, chose a color and also snatch a watermark VersaMark clear ink stamp pad for this project along with a fun stamp. A must have is the Embossing Heat Tool (your best friend) this is a great toy! It looks like a long hair dryer but with no handle. Pick a clean card to work on and a stamp of your choosing, put the stamp on the stamp pad, stamp on the card with the clear VersaMark. Then put the powder on the card. Shake the colorful glitter off and turn on the embosser. Run it over the glittery area and it will soon change color. Now you have permanent embossed card. After this have fun! A hint I learned that if you color inside the lines it creates an even more interesting card to give to your friends or family! Hope you enjoy it!
P.S. Use some tape on the outside of your card to make it more interesting! Google is the most widely used search engine basically everywhere. Here is Google's guide to SEO I stumbled upon last night. When I started out blogging, I had no idea how to do any of this stuff. Googles explains it here. (for many that don't know what SEO stands for, it mean Search Engine Optimization. This helps your blog/website to be found more easily on Google.)
Hi everyone! I hope your holidays were as fruitful as mine! Somehow my family always knows what to get me. (the fact that I give it to them directly might have been a contributor...) This year Christmas came up super fast. Christmas Eve arrived and I didn't know what to do with myself other than to freak out. We have many traditions, including caroling, (which warms the hearts of some and annoys the others) decorating cookies, (usually Christmas Eve, because we are all so busy) and having a (not-so) Pinterest-y Christmas Party, and Christmas day. Singing kitschy Christmas songs. In the dark. Yep, that's fun. Well the kids loved it, and it was fun to see all the (mostly) happy faces that we brought when people answered the door. Then the kids would just run off to the next house just barely before we got done singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." ...and last but DEFINITELY NOT least... the classy cheese board. I just want you to know this cheese board has my blood, sweat, and tears in here. No actually that's really gross and I can't take credit. My dad, naturally trying to help out in the kitchen for Christmas dinner, says he'll make the cheese board. So when I finished what I was preparing, I turn around to see this... and almost die. He told me that all my creativity came from him. "What'd you think, it came from your mom?". So I let him keep his most prized possession of the Christmas season, and told him I would put it on the blog. There you go dad! The only downside was that tape was used to label... Oh well!
